Review Guidelines

At ODAdventure we take reviewing products and adventures very seriously. You are spending your hard earned cash in the hopes of making a wise investment. Reviews are designed to help you make the right descion. All of our reviews are not affected by manufacturers or sponsors... If we review poorly designed gear our review will reflect that. If a piece of gear blows us away the review will reflect that. Our review process will be applied to all pieces of gear equally.
All reviews will be presented as follows. A description of the product will be provided as well as how long we have used the piece of equipment. Some advantages and disadvantages will be discussed. The end of the post will have the writers score card. Scores are on a 1-10 scale:

1-2: Well Below Average (do not buy this product)
3-4: Below Average (cannot recommend this product)
5-6: Average (this item may be appropriate for some however better pieces of gear are out there)
7-8: Above Average (This piece of gear exceeds expectations, can confidently recommend this product)
9-10: Well Above Average (Few people should not own this piece of equipment)

Each piece of gear will be scored on:

Performance: How well did the product achieve what it was designed to do? Did the product perform the task quickly, reliably, and adequately? A good product will do what it should without fail every time you use it. A very high scorer may change the industry or just be that great at what it does.

Weight: How heavy is this product compared to similar products? Can this item be added to the ultralight backpackers load or is this item car camping material?

Quality: How durable is this item? Does it feel cheap or well made? Does this item use the best materials available? A high scorer in this category has a great design and outstanding craftsmanship.

Price: How does this item compare to others in the market price wise. A high scorer in this category will be significantly below the price of the competition.

Tilt: This is the reviewer’s area to be opinionated and more subjective. Does this piece of gear hold a special place in your list of equipment? Do you just love this product? Does your gut reaction make you feel you like or dislike this piece of gear?
